The Ad Astra House is a 3-bedroom / 3-bath residential renovation project that aims to redefine how we consider hospitality in the home. Tasked with the unique challenge of facilitating the needs of two established Vancouver restaurateurs, Studio Roslyn took on a collaborative design approach which incorporated the client’s deep love of cooking, hosting and family.

Ad Astra is designed around a material palette directly inspired by the personalities of the clients. Bold graphic black and white tile define “high traffic” areas such as the bathrooms and kitchen, while soft grey and blue hues calm the home office and child’s bedroom. Gold and black fixtures and deep-black Nero Marquina marble give the apartment a sense of functional luxury and highlight the most important elements of the space.
