With a history spanning over 4 generations, Grimson & Sons is Vancouver’s oldest manufacturer of original jewelry. Since 1945, the family owned company has been creating handmade, high quality heirloom and bespoke pieces for a loyal client base both local and international.

Studio Roslyn was commissioned to develop interior design for their new flagship boutique in downtown Vancouver. Housed in the historic Rogers Building on Granville Street, the site of the retail experience is just 4 floors down from their atelier space and workshop where the pieces are made by hand. We took inspiration from the owners’ interests, personality and aesthetic sensibilities to craft a space that is an extension of their brand and design ethos. We incorporated a mix of vintage and heritage detailing to pay homage to the historic setting, furthering the concept with elements of Parisian glamour and rock n’ roll theatrics.

With an antique chandelier providing the focal point, the small but highly functional space is grounded by custom molding details and a mix of square and round heritage black & white tile flooring executed in a custom pattern and border configuration. Tonal drapery and bronze mirrors are juxtaposed by high gloss electric blue millwork details, a custom cash desk, free standing table, extensive millwork and wall-mounted displays. Considered usage of pattern, a rich palette of colours and mix of contemporary and heritage materials seek to both elevate and complement the product on offer.
